ISI Raman Shift Calculator
About the calculator
The ISI Raman shift calculator makes it easy to convert between different units used in Raman spectroscopy, primarily between wavelength (usually in nanometers) and Raman shift (typically in wavenumbers, cm-1).
Raman spectroscopy is a technique for characterising substances. It uses vibrational, rotational, and low-frequency modes to generate a unique spectral fingerprint that reveals the substance’s identity. This fingerprint is shown by the observed Raman shift, typically in wavenumbers, which have units of inverse length (cm-1). Therefore, there is a need to convert between spectral wavelengths, wave numbers and frequency of shift in the Raman spectrum.
Enter the numbers, and IS-Instrument’s Raman shift calculator will provide the conversions for you.
ISI’s expertise lies in Raman spectroscopy. Our HES instrument uses a fibre rather than a slit to deliver much higher etendue than in standard spectrometers, thereby lending itself to Raman measurements. We are happy to offer advice and consultancy in making Raman measurements. Please get in touch with your questions.
Enter the laser excitation wavelength (nm) and Raman shift either in nanometers (nm) or wavenumbers (cm-1) to convert units of the Raman shift.
