ISI welcomes two new members to our team: Josh Veitch-Michaelis and Usama Bin Mansoor.
Josh gained a 1st-class MPhys from the University of Warwick. He joins us from University College London, where he is reading for a Phd in Imaging Science. This involves Josh is working on a CASE-
During his time with ISI, Josh will develop bespoke optical and 3D imaging systems for industry, further developing his expertise in 3d imaging and computer vision. Josh will bring his robust technical skills to bear on commercial product development, including a low-cost IoT miniature spectrometer. With our sister company, i3D robotics, Josh will develop intelligent 3D vision platforms: stereo camera systems, interface software and networked sensors.
Usama Bin Mansoor joins us on a full-time, permanent basis from University College London. Having gained a compact, remote sensing instrumentation that we are recognised for. He will assemble optical components and testing instruments for industry. Additionally, he will gain real-world experience actively participating in major projects. In particular, he will work with TATA Steel, developing a high-temperature probe, collaborating with personnel to set up and test the device on-site. He will also be part of the quarterly meetings with relevant stakeholders. Usama will manage in-house model design and prototyping involving 3D printing technologies, targeting niche markets.
