IS-Instrument is pleased to announce Dr William Brooks and Dr Joshua Veitch – Michaelis have joined our team.
Will joins IS Instruments from a background in materials science and instrument engineering. Will completed a B.Sc Chemistry degree in 2006 followed by a Electronic Engineering Ph.D in 2012. In addition to 4 years of post-doctoral research at the Centre for Solar Energy Research at Glyndwr University, North Wales, Will has gained excellent experience in optical measurements for materials development in a multidisciplinary environment. This places Will in a strong position moving forward to apply this knowledge and experience to his new role of Optical Engineer at IS Instruments.
Josh recently completed his PhD in Space and Climate Physics at UCL, focusing on innovative ways of combining stereo imaging and laser rangefinding (LIDAR). This research earned a postgraduate award from the Worshipful Company of Scientific Instrument Makers in 2016. His skillset covers expertise in 2D and 3D imaging, electronics https://is-instruments.com/products/lidar-consultancydesign and programming. In his spare time he enjoys bouldering and helps run the International Astronomical Youth Camp.
